Dear GOTR parents,
In Lesson 10, we focus on why cooperation is important in our daily lives. We will engage in several activities that allow the girls to practice cooperative skills. Being able to apply these skills to different situations teaches the GOTR team how to accomplish goals together! Often times, working together might create feelings of pressure.
Wednesday's topic is peer pressure. In Lesson 11, the girls explore and discuss ways they experience peer pressure outside of GOTR. We learn a strategy to resist peer pressure called the ‘SBLR’ method. This stands for: ‘Stop, Breathe, Listen, and Respond.’ Any time a girl is feeling pressured she can follow these steps in order to effectively react to the situation, instead of making a split-second decision.
