ImplementationThe planning stage is an essential first step, but is followed by an equally important step: the implementation stage. This is the stage where the team determines what we need to get a program started. This is the who, what, when, where, how, and why stage. These questions must all be carefully considered and answered to be sure the implementation goes as smooth as possible. This implementation stage is where the team compares and contrasts best practices available and makes the plan to get it started.

Assess CapacityIt is important to be aware of the staff and their expertise level of who will be delivering the program. Time is a factor considered at this stage too. What is the available time for training to occur and when where the program be delivered during the day. There are two times you need to assess capacity: first you need a general idea before you start comparing and contrasting best practices, then you need to be aware after a program has been chosen to be sure it is a realistic and good fit.

Identify Best PracticesThere are a plethora of resources available for best practices and evidence-based programs that are for bullying and youth violence prevention. However, not all programs are the best fit for your school. You have to take time to compare and contrast the programs you are interested in.

Make a PlanThis is the step where you put you plan into action. You have to make decisions about what program you will use, who will deliver, when it will happen, what needs to be done, when will training occur, who needs to be informed, etc.
